Why do parents give their babies wierd or dumb names these days?

My daughter has a "traditional" first name with the name Rayne as the middle. It's just preference. I agree some are weird and I have heard of the name Audio Science.. that's pushing it.. But the common traditional names are boring plus how many Johns or James' have you met? It gets annoying you have to go by last names and when it's a common last name like Smith or Miller, it can get really confusing. The more unusual names are easier for teachers and friends to remember and the kids won't get as confused when being spoken to in public.
