What is the name of this horror movie?? Please Help!!?

I remembering watching a film when i was younger but i can only vaguely remember certain parts of it. Does anyone have a clue what it is called. The movie starts wth a guy in his house and he is very shaky and scared and he phones someone else to say that "the thing is back and its going to kill him" the guy he speaks to basically tells him its ok. Shortly after the call the guy is killed by some type of entity or monster. I dont know if he had his head decapitated or not. But he kept looking up to his loft and he climbed up with the ladders, thats where the noise was coming from. The movie is based around a small boy and there is some type of evil ornament in hi room like a little green statue of something which i think holds the evil spirit. Sorry cant remember much else but i really want to watch it again as it was very scary.
