Bleaching & Dye question!?

I have dark brown hair and I want to bleach it with Flashlightning by Manic Panic, volume 40, the best you can buy... I heard it will kill my hair. I also straighten my hair everyday, and I hear my hair will be like straw after I bleach and dye it Purple Haze. Anything I can do with my non-existent funds? (example, vitamins, make your own formula with some random household products...) thanks!
